Use of laps up to 12-inches is possible with this lap machine. These machines have variable speed motors and 1/2-inch ground aluminum tables. Tubular steel construction provides a stable platform to which your clamping devise can be attached. The table top is split so that half can be positioned at a lower level that will enable cutting at additional angels which would not otherwise be possible.

(1) At this time this is a just a flat lap, but was designed to become part of a system for faceting gemstones. For that purpose additional modifications are still required, such as: No two laps are of the same thickness. To enable cutters to change the lap and return to the "zero" position when lapping or polishing the unit must be raised or lowered until ready to continue.

(2) Development of a faceting unit that when attahced would work properly. As is this unit would enable use of jamb peg faceting system. (or could be used to polish bookends etc.)
