Care is used not to allow the wheel to become wet. Only a small amount of water is spayed on the wheel to which polish is applied. The wheel is mounted on a one-inch steel shaft that rotates at 600 rpm. This provides the ideal surface speed for polishing most hard materials such as glass or agate.
